STORIES about ‘UPPER STOREYS’ in DORKING

Our 2025’s ‘Heritage Open Days” challenged you to identify the retail units under the 15 impressive buildings of character and age – all in our town centre in High, West, and South streets, for a prize of four free event tickets from Dorking Halls.

Here’s the Winner – Congratulations Phil Hollands!

“Hello Pierre,
Thanks for that – a nice surprise!  We (my brother, sister and I) did it on Saturday 13th, and also visited Mullins Coffee Shop and St Martin’s Church. We liked Mullins and enjoyed a coffee.  Unfortunately, the St Martin’s programme was not as on the HOD site, but one of the volunteers there gave us a guided tour, which was good.
The Storeys competition was great fun – not easy, even for us locals. I recognised two (Mountain Warehouse and Costa Coffee), although I initially thought the latter was the URC.
My brother and I live at South Holmwood, our sister at Rudgwick, and have for years. We’ve been to lots of HOD events over the years, particularly this year, but not many in Dorking.
Thanks again.  Phil Hollands “
